University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus Community was chosen as a beneficiary of Abarca’s BCCP

Jun 24, 2021

One of the five beneficiaries chosen to receive support from Abarca’s second edition of its Better Care Community Program 2020-21 is The University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus

As a beneficiary of the BCCP 2020-21, the organization will receive volunteer support from Abarcans and a grant to research the association between outdoor aeroallergens (fungal spores and pollen) with morbidity caused by COVID-19 in the San Juan and Caguas municipalities. This project will benefit from having access to Abarca’s clinical and analytics teams.

Our choosing of the five not-for-profit organizations to benefit from the BCCP was based on their potential impact on the community, their alignment with our fundamental values, and the volunteering opportunities presented for Abarcans.

The Better Care Community Program is a valuable opportunity for Abarca to place our resources and competencies at the service of projects with the potential to significantly improve the health and quality of life of many people, and we look forward to helping them exceed their goals in the upcoming year.
