Expanded Agreement Builds on True Partnership,
Important Accomplishments
Abarca has been selected by Triple-S, the managed care market leader in Puerto Rico, as the pharmacy benefits manager for the company’s Commercial and Medicare businesses. Once fully implemented, this agreement will cover 568,000 members and over $600 million in annual drug spending. Since 2012, Abarca has served Triple-S’ Medicare Advantage programs.

Over the past three years, Abarca and Triple-S have launched bold new initiatives, including value-based contracts with pharma companies for high-cost medications, quality, and performance-based pharmacy networks, and clinical programs to improve outcomes and reduce the costs for patients with Hepatitis C. These programs are delivered using Darwin, the most advanced, integrated pharmacy benefit management platform in the industry.
