Javier Gonzalez discusses value-based agreements on MedCity INVEST panel

This month, Javier Gonzalez, PharmD, Abarca’s Chief Growth Officer, was selected to speak about value-based agreements on a panel at the MedCity INVEST Conference.

The panel, “The Opportunities and Challenges in Value-Based Contracting,” was led by Delphine O’Rourke, Partner at Goodwin. During the session, the panelists dove deep into some of the industry’s most pressing questions about these innovative agreements.

In particular, Javier provided insights into why the industry has been slow to adopt value-based contracts, despite the high level of interest–citing discrepancies around transparency, unique challenges around the terms of these agreements, and relevant federal pricing regulations. He also led an exploration into the successes that Abarca has found implementing value-based contracts.

Each year, MedCity INVEST is attended by more than 300 venture capitalists, healthcare executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders looking to learn about, and support, the industry’s most pressing issues.
