At Abarca, we’ve always believed innovation isn’t only a technology story it’s a creativity story. The Art in Our DNA book is our way of putting that belief on paper: a photo-driven book that traces how the Oasis Art Program, and Santurce itself, have shaped the Abarcan Experience. It’s a record of the murals that now live across our urban campus, the commissions we’ve created with emerging artists since 2017, and the simple idea behind all of it: health is more human when the spaces we share are alive with culture.
What the Art in Our DNA book captures
Art in Our DNA is a guided walk through Oasis Santurce. It pairs photography with short essays to explore three pillars: Creativity, Community, and Care. The book shows how those values become tangible in hallways, stairwells, and gathering spaces. You’ll see the campus-scale mural collection come to life floor by floor. It also highlights a tradition that began with Abarca’s 2017 brand relaunch: commissioning original works for clients, partners, and friends.
Highlights from the commissions series, including Orlando Santiago’s Awesome (2019) as a visual mosaic of Abarca’s voice; Gerardo Cloquell’s A better way (2022) as narrative illustration; Estefanía Rivera’s Vórtice de Innovación (2024), visualizing momentum and transformation; and many other artists.
The book also frames our headquarters as a living studio in Santurce—where the neighborhood’s galleries, festivals, and street art ecosystems meet a workplace designed for connection. It’s both documentation and invitation.
A campus as a canvas
Oasis Santurce now hosts large-scale, site-specific murals that double as wayfinding and culture statements. Among the artists featured across the building: Louis Pérez (El Lobby), Sergio Stuff (El Gazebo), Colectivo Moriviví (El Rincón), The Stencil Network (El Townhall), Andrés Cortés (El Cerebro), IVS (La Nube), and many more. Each floor carries a distinct energy, but together they read as one message: art belongs in the everyday.

Why a book—and why now
We made this book for three reasons:
To honor a lineage. Emerging artists have turned walls into civic forums for decades. Our program stands on that tradition of localized, collaborative, and accessible urban art.
To show how culture improves work. Exposure to art reduces stress and strengthens a sense of belonging; creative environments spark curiosity, empathy, and better decision-making.
To codify the Abarcan Experience. Our values—Humble Competence, Fire in the Belly, Off Road, Like Family, All In, Shake It Off—come alive when the place itself tells the story.

Art in Our DNA also reflects our relationships with high-impact organizations across Puerto Rico. These organizations join us for Oasis Connections, tours, and mixers. Those bridges aren’t extracurricular; they serve our purpose. By making spaces where people feel connected, inspired, and cared for, we move closer to Abarca’s promise: making healthcare seamless and personalized for everyone.
For Abarca, the takeaway is practical and human: Art at Abarca isn’t décor—it’s declaration. This book is a snapshot of that declaration in motion—and a starting point for what we’ll build next.
