In his unmistakable hyper-real chrome style, Bikismo painted a caterpillar—a simple creature that carries an entire future inside it. The piece nods to Darwin and to Abarca’s belief that transformation is not a single moment, but a disciplined, compounding process. It also speaks to Santurce itself: in a neighborhood eager to “see the butterfly,” the mural reminds us to recognize beauty in belonging and in the becoming, and to celebrate the work of change while it is still happening.
