Nayda Rivera, Abarca’s Director of Government and Industry Partnerships, was selected to lead the panel on “Puerto Rico: Public Health Policy Trends Alerts for the Private Sector” at the 2019 Puerto Rico Health Forum last November.
Through the interactive presentation, Nayda presented an overview of potential impacts of changes in public policy within the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDPR), and differences in funding present in Puerto Rico’s healthcare system in comparison to other states. She also presented a timeline of the program’s implementation process as carried out in the U.S. and its territories, as well as examples of the economic impact on Puerto Rico’s Administration of Health Insurances (ASES) after entering the program.
Executive Director of ASES, Yolanda García-Lugo, shared her expertise on the Programa Vital and Alejandro Drevón, General Manager of Abbvie, presented on the impact of Best Price for both ASES and other commercial and Medicare programs.
Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican Health Committee, the 2019 Puerto Rico Health Forum brings together healthcare decision-makers from across the United States to provoke conversation and contribute to Puerto Rico’s overall economic growth.
